For the past two decades, Raymond Matts, Founder of raymond matts, the art of perfumery, has experienced and learned the many facets of the fragrance industry. Mr. Matts has held a range of positions covering all segments of the business, earning a truly global and prestigious background throughout his career.
He started as a selling specialist behind the Aramis counter in New York City. Fascinated by perfumes and how they are created, he joined the internationally renowned fragrance houses of Firmenich and later IFF, where he implemented fragrance concepts for new and existing products and was accountable for all stages of development. He acted as liaison between perfumers, salesperson and client. Matts considers this experience essential to his career today.
At Elizabeth Arden, with instinct and elegance, Raymond Matts designed fragrances for Elizabeth Taylor, Cerruti, Chloe Narcisse and Karl Lagerfeld.
At Estée Lauder, Raymond Matts held the position of Vice President of Estée Lauder Fragrances Worldwide and was responsible for the strategic, conceptual development and general management of the company's global fragrance group, which includes Aramis, Tommy Hilfiger, Clinique and Origin’s.
Today, you can still find Raymond Matts sniffing out modern, inventive ways to reach the sophisticated consumer, designing signature fragrances with contemporary style!
Mr. Matts holds a B.A. in Cosmetics/Fragrance Marketing from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. He lives in Manhattan with his wife and two sons.
